Washington, D.C. – Yesterday two Coptic Churches in Egypt were bombed by ISIS. 43 people were killed and over 100 were wounded in the deadly attacks which corresponded with the Christian holy day: Palm Sunday. The President’s abdication of his Constitutional duties and studious dismissal of the historical lessons of defeating the Nazis, the Fascists, and the Evil Empire, has manifested in terrible consequences for U.S domestic and foreign policy, and ultimately, our national security. Instead of protecting American interests, an Administration wracked by self-doubt disarms, withdrawals, and apologizes. As a result, the insidious threats around the globe are growing in power and lethality. In the East, China continues to escalate.

March 4, 2009 – Congressman Trent Franks (AZ-02) today joined with more than forty of his Republican colleagues, including the top three Republicans in the House of Representatives, to send a letter to the President of the United States expressing concern over the Administration’s reported proposal to scrap plans to expand the U.S. missile defense system to Europe if Russia helps stop Iran’s development of nuclear warheads and ballistic missiles.

April 3, 2008 — Congressman Trent Franks (AZ-02) gave the following statement today after hearing news of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization’s (NATO) endorsement of a plan to deploy an integrated missile defense system in Europe.  NATO countries recognized specifically the shared threat posed by ballistic missiles and weapons of mass destruction and endorsed the United States’ plan to deploy an X-band radar in the Czech Republic and 10 interceptors in Poland.
